I know all too well how easy it is to fall into “stinking thinking”.  Yes that “mindset” where you jump to look at the down side of things before you even consider looking up.  I know this all too well because I used to be the queen of stinking thinking.  Well that was before I really grasped hold of how much I was getting in my own way.

I’m sure you hear this all the time, “you are what you think”.  It’s true! What you think inevitably effects how you will show up in the world.  If you want to win big, you gotta think big. It really is that simple.  Of course most things are easier said than done.

So let me share the one”thing” that really helped me level up my thinking –

A GRATITUDE JOURNAL

Yes! That’s it!

You may be wondering what a gratitude journal is and how it works, so let me explain.

A gratitude journal is a journal that is specifically dedicated to you sharing “what you’re grateful for” each day.

In your  journal (it doesn’t have to be a fancy one) you write down 5 things your grateful for when you first wake up and before you go to bed. You write a total of 10 things each day.

Expressing gratitude daily helps you level-up your thinking because the more you focus on “the good” the less your mind diverts to the “not so good”. Easy enough right?

I recently started keeping a gratitude journal again and man can I tell you how refreshing this one little activity is.  My goal this time is to journal for at least 6 months straight.  I’m going to close this year with BIG WINS and I don’t need any small thoughts getting in the way.

  1. I love my gratitude journals because I can go back and read them and reflect on how much I have to be thankful for when I’m feeling discouraged.
